Yesterday’s Closet | Owner
Fashion has always been a captivating outlet for me to express myself, especially when it comes to vintage clothing from the 90s and early 2000s. However, in the summer of 2020, I noticed a trend of businesses on Instagram merely reselling this clothing without any unique identity or passion. That's when I saw an opportunity to create something special—a vintage resell business with a distinct brand. And so, Yesterday's Closet was born.
To make the brand stand out, I sought inspiration from the nostalgic Nintendo 64 logo, using its recognizable design and color scheme to instantly convey what Yesterday's Closet was all about.
To curate my inventory of vintage clothing, I religiously visited several Salvation Army thrift stores every Wednesday, taking advantage of their half-priced deals. After carefully selecting each piece, I orchestrated photoshoots, sometimes with models, to showcase the clothing in its full glory.
With everything organized, I presented each item on the Instagram account, setting fair prices based on factors like the type of clothing, size, and condition. The personal touch didn't stop there; I ensured that every purchased item was either hand-delivered, shipped with care, or available for pickup.
Through Yesterday's Closet, I sought not only to provide exceptional vintage pieces but also to offer a genuine and memorable shopping experience for all my customers. The passion for fashion and nostalgia fueled my journey, and I had a blast with the entire endeavor.
